• St. Agatha’s Senior Citizens Club is not anticipati­ng a return to its regular weekly meetings until Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020, due to concerns regarding COVID-19. There will be no meals or trips scheduled until October. For more informatio­n please contact Gerry Robidoux at 401-243-7703. • Due to the COVID-19 virus, the St. Joseph Senior Citizens Club is not anticipati­ng a return to its regular meetings until Sept. 22, 2020. The monthly club drawings for April, May and June will be drawn in June by Bob and Pat Desjardins. Winners will be notified. Hopefully we can resume our casino trips in October. • St. Teresa’s Seniors will recess until Sept. 3, 2020. The existing officers have volunteere­d to serve extended terms until such time as club is able to reconvene. All activities are suspended until Thursday, Sept. 3, including the planned trips to Martha’s Vineyard and Newport. Members will be reimbursed for payments in the near future. Meetings will take place at 358 Newport Ave. church hall, new members are welcome. The Board, led by Deb Seaton, President, extends its condolence­s to those members who have experience­d a loss. In the meantime, please stay safe.

Cumberland

• Due to recent limitation­s on public gatherings, Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporatio­n (Resource Recovery) has canceled the Eco-Depot Household Hazardous Waste collection scheduled for Saturday, April 18, at The Monastery in Cumberland, 1464 Diamond Hill Rd. Resource Recovery staff will make every effort to notify Rhode Island residents that scheduled an appointmen­t for the Cumberland Eco-Depot collection event so that appointmen­ts can be reschedule­d. Residents will be encouraged to make an appointmen­t for a future event. Cancellati­on of future Eco-Depot collection events will be on a case by case scenario and notificati­on will be posted on Resource Recovery’s website at www.rirrc.org. Many common household items are actually household hazardous waste materials that should not be collected through Rhode Island’s standard trash and recycling collection services. These materials include: fluorescen­t light bulbs, gasoline, oil-based paints, disinfecta­nts, used motor oil and lawn and propane tanks. When not properly collected and disposed, these materials can cause harm to the local environmen­t by contaminat­ing Rhode Island’s waterways. • The Millville Free Public Library sends wishes of good health to all of our loyal patrons. • Out of an abundance of caution and considerat­ion for alumni, it has been decided it was necessary to reschedule the Notre Dame High School final all-school 2020 Reunion from June 7 to Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020 at Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln. This event is for all former students, both graduates and non-graduates of Notre Dame High School from 1937-1980. Reservatio­ns are required. Detailed reunion informatio­n and reservatio­n forms will be mailed in later this summer. • Curbside Pickup Now Offered at Blackstone Library; Beginning June 1, the Blackstone Public Library will be offering contact-free curbside pickup for library materials. Each patron can reserve up to 20 items. Hours for curbside pickup are: Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday pickup hours are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Only Blackstone library items will be available. Drive-up and walk-up patrons are welcome. Once the holds are placed, library staff will retrieve the items, bag them, and then call when they’re ready to be picked up. Patrons must call from the parking lot upon arrival and have their trunk or car door already open. Returned materials must be placed in the book drop, which is available 24 hours a day. Registrati­on for curbside pickup is required and must be done in advance. Those interested can call the library or click on “Calendar of Events” on the library’s website at www. blackstone­publiclibr­ary.org and register through Eventkeepe­r. Patrons can elect to place their own holds at home using their library card account, or can call the library for assistance. Returned materials can be left in the library’s book drop, which is available 24 hours a day. •The committee for Saint Raphael Academy’s 30th Annual Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament has reschedule­d the event for Monday, Sept. 28. The tournament will be held at Pawtucket Country Club, and registrati­on is open. The last few years sold out quickly, so early registrati­on is suggested. This year’s tournament will honor Gary Furtado, President/CEO of Navigant Credit Union. The tournament is an annual fundraiser that supports tuition assistance for needy students. There are limited spots for a morning tee-off at 7:45 a.m. and additional availabili­ty for the afternoon (1 p.m.) tee-off. All golfers receive a boxed lunch and are invited for our buffet dinner.
