Cumberland
• Due to recent limitations on public gatherings, Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation (Resource Recovery) has canceled the Eco-Depot Household Hazardous Waste collection scheduled for Saturday, April 18, at The Monastery in Cumberland, 1464 Diamond Hill Rd. Resource Recovery staff will make every effort to notify Rhode Island residents that scheduled an appointment for the Cumberland Eco-Depot collection event so that appointments can be rescheduled. Residents will be encouraged to make an appointment for a future event. Cancellation of future Eco-Depot collection events will be on a case by case scenario and notification will be posted on Resource Recovery’s website at www.rirrc.org. Many common household items are actually household hazardous waste materials that should not be collected through Rhode Island’s standard trash and recycling collection services. These materials include: fluorescent light bulbs, gasoline, oil-based paints, disinfectants, used motor oil and lawn and propane tanks. When not properly collected and disposed, these materials can cause harm to the local environment by contaminating Rhode Island’s waterways. For a full list of household hazardous waste materials, please visit www.rirrc.org/ecodepot. To make an appointment for a collection or to view the entire Eco-Depot schedule, visit www.rirrc.org/ecodepot or call 401-942-1430, ext. 241. Rhode Islanders may make an appointment for any Eco-Depot event that fits their schedule.
