1968 Mike Webb, who finished with 17 points, fired

in three quick baskets to help Blackstone Valley Electric edge Lebanon Knitting 68-62 in a Pawtucket Boys’ Club-Industrial Basketball League tilt on the club court. With Mike Reeder (21) and Allan Addison (17) chipping in with some fine play, BVE held a 40-37 lead at halftime. Tom McGrath grabbed game-high honors with 33 points and Joe Yelle chipped in with 19 in a losing effort. Reeder has tallied 43 points in two games and Webb has 30.

1988 Four Blackstone Valley harriers made the Evening

Times All-Area girls cross-country team led by the energetic and personable star of the Cumberland squad, Kerry Brothers. Brothers followed up wins in the Class A and state meets with an impressive fifth-place finish in the New England meet, while Saint Raphael Academy sophomore, Krysten Addison, a strong and gifted runner, placed 18th in the state meet. Tolman coach Darryl McCaffrey had a pair of aces on the All-Area team in Angela Alfieri who placed 22nd in the state meet and fifth in Class A and sophomore Kerry Madden who was 17th at the state’s and 117th in the New Englands. 1998 Jimmy Robbio of Cumberland captured the Evening

Times’ Area schoolboy rushing crown with 1,439 yards on 184 carries and was runner-up in scoring with 114 points, two behind champ Tim Slowey of Attleboro. Neal St. Jean of Saint Raphael Academy finished second among ground-gainers with 927 yards in 118 attempts. Lincoln’s pass receiving duo of Josh Paradis and Matt Daigneault placed first and second with 31 and 26 receptions, respective­ly, while Matt Warchol of Attleboro was the pacesetter in yards with 495.
