1951 Pawtucket East coach Art Nooney has 5-foot-8 playmaker Pete Kosty, 5-11 strong defender Dick Nooney, 5-11 Al Stanelun, 5-9 defensive stalwart Jimmy Douglas, 5-11 rebounder Tom Mynarski and 6-4 scorer and rebounder Stan Kieon returning from a group that took part in every varsity game played last year. Shifty Paul Lyons, a good shooter, and 6-2 Walt Campbell, who has a sensational shot with either hand, are both transfers from Saint Raphael Academy expected to see action, while Billy Addison, Denny Haworth and sophomore Bobby Lefaivre round out the candidates for the starting five.

1961 Dick Rousseau captured game-high honors firing in 11 points and Gil Normand, Ray Benjamin and Ernie Letendre all chipped in with 10 points as unbeaten St. Cecilia’s routed St. Joseph’s of Central Falls 47-29 in Blackstone Valley CYO Cadet Division basketball action. In other games, Joe Cantone and Pete Mullen combined for 23 points to pace St. Maria Goretti to a 38-32 win over St. Patrick’s. Joe Ocediay led the way for Holy Trinity hooping 17 points en route to a 48-39 victory over St. Mathieu’s.

1971 Coach Leo Labossiere’s Central Falls quintet figures to be anchored by returning starters Paul Sawyer and Ed Sawyer and lettermen Lou Tager, Kenny Knapp and Don Labossiere, although Tager and Knapp’s preparation have been slowed due to the football season ending last week. Junior Don Grenier is also battling for a starting berth along with varsity returnee Pete Scully. Paul Sawyer is captain of the Warriors.
