Kimberley A. Scott

-

BELLINGHAM, Mass. — Kimberley Anne Scott (Welch), 68, of Bellingham, MA died peacefully at home on February 8

after an agonizing year-long struggle with lung cancer that had metastasized to her spine and brain. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Derrick, and their daughter Deidre Scott of Los Angeles. She also leaves behind her sister Christine Raimondi and her husband Peter, as well as nieces Elizabeth Kuschel and Jessica Raimondi, all of Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

The daughter of the late Carolyn and Philip G. Merrow and Larry Welch, Kim grew up in Malden and Middleton and graduated from Masconomet Regional High School with the class of 1970. A natural performer, Kim sang in a band in her twenties and was involved in community theater in her thirties. She could rival the likes of Jerry Lewis and Jim Carrey with her rubber-like facial contortions. And she was a master of impersonation, most notably for the Wicked Witch of the West and the Cowardly Lion from “The Wizard of Oz.”

Kim was a complex and somewhat tortured individual. At her core, she was bright, beautiful, nurturing, and outrageously funny. Those who loved her knew that when she was at her best, she was quite simply, the best. We know she’s dancing away and making them laugh now, wherever she is.

No services will be held, but if you feel called to honor Kimberley, please consider making a donation to the National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cartier’s Funeral Home, Bellingham, MA.
