Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island names new board members
PROVIDENCE – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island (BBBSRI) is proud to announce the addition of five new members to its Board of Directors, further strengthening the organization’s commitment to making a lasting impact on the lives of hundreds of young people and their families, through Mentorship, as well as strengthening the community at large through their Donation Center’s cloth collections.
New Board Members include:
• Rhonda Lapham, iHeart Media, has been in the Radio Industry since 2003 when she first joined iHeartMedia, which then was known as Clear Channel Media. In her 20 years with iHeart, Rhonda has served as an Account Executive, Local Sales Manager, General Sales Manager, General Manager and is now the Market President overseeing both the Providence and Cape Cod Markets. Prior to making the jump into Radio, Rhonda worked in the Hotel Business for 15 years. Her career brought her from Portsmouth, NH, to Baltimore, MD, then she moved into Sales working for the Flatley Hotel Corporation and a few other management companies in Massachusetts.
Rhonda is a graduate from both Endicott College and the University of New Hampshire with an Associates Degree in Tourism and a Bachelors Degree in Hotel Administration. As for her interests, Rhonda enjoys bringing people together and assisting several local nonprofits work together so that everyone succeeds. She serves as an Ambassador of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of RI organization and sits on the Board of We Share Hope as well as the Rhode Island Broadcasters Association.
• Glen P. Martin, F.L. Putnam Investment Management Co., is the Managing Director of Client Advisory Services at F.L. Putnam Investment Management Company. Prior to joining F.L.Putnam, Glen spent most of his career at Bank of America and its predecessor organizations, most recently as Market Executive of U.S. Trust in the New England Market. He held numerous leadership positions at Columbia Management (a division of Bank of America) including Head of Marketing, Head of Sales Strategy & Business Management, Head of the Money Market Business as well as Head of the Mutual Fund Division.
Glen earned his BS and MBA degrees from Bryant University. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). Glen is a Board Member of Family Services of Rhode Island, a Finance Committee Member for CareLink, Inc., a Board Member of RhodeWay Financial, a non-profit financial planning and investment educational organization, and Past-President of Bryant University’s National Alumni Council. He is a native Rhode Islander, has two daughters, and enjoys running, skiing, and family time.
• Tiffany L. Nguyen, Citizens Bank, is a Senior Manager in the Office of the Chairman at Citizens. Tiffany and her team advocate for what is right and facilitate resolutions to complex situations. In addition to her leadership role at Citizens, Tiffany also teaches graduate and undergraduate business classes as an Adjunct Professor at St. Francis College. Tiffany recently earned her Doctor of Business at Johnson & Wales University, previously attending Northeastern School of Law for her Masters in Legal Studies and Roger Williams University, graduating with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts & Political Science. Tiffany is active in the rescued animals community, mentoring community, and previously held a role as Chairperson of the North Smithfield Art Committee. Tiffany and her husband Andy are a “Big Couple” and currently mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. Tiffany is a new mom to a little boy named Wesley, and a rescue dog mom to several adopted dogs with special needs.
• Leeanna Raposo, IT Support RI, is a seasoned professional with a career spanning nearly two decades. Throughout her professional journey, characterized by a commitment to continuous improvement, she has been a driving force behind organizational success. As the General Manager, she led cross-functional teams, streamlined operations, and thrived on challenges, consistently seeking innovative solutions. Transitioning to the role of COO, Leeanna optimized processes, enhanced efficiency, and fostered seamless collaboration across departments. Her focus on balance and teamwork played a pivotal role in contributing to the achievements of the organization during her tenure. Currently serving as the CFO since December 2020, she oversees financial strategy, risk management, and fiscal health. Her passion for technology enables her to leverage data-driven insights, facilitating informed decision-making. A dedicated problem solver, Leeanna takes immense pride in her ability to tackle complex challenges, whether they be in financial analysis or technical hurdles. With determination and creativity, she firmly believes that the right mindset can overcome any obstacle.
• Aderito Dos Santos, Barry Wehmiller Design Group, a seasoned engineering leader with over two decades in automation consulting. Currently serving as a Partner at Barry-Wehmiller Design Group, Aderito has expertise in the design, implementation, and validation of complex automation systems. Barry-Wehmiller Design Group is a national consulting firm specializing in a diverse array of services including engineering, architecture, construction, control system integration, control panel design/fabrication, and regulatory compliance, catering to manufacturing clients across various industries.
Born in Portugal to Cape Verdean parents, Aderito migrated to the U.S. at five, growing up in Boston and Pawtucket, RI. His success is credited to family support and inspiring mentors. Aderito advocates for STEM education, supporting initiatives like the Rhode Island College Upward Bound Program. As an alumnus, he serves on the Board of Directors, promoting equitable access to education.
A graduate of Shea High School and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Aderito is bilingual (English, Cape Verdean Creole) and speaks conversational Portuguese and Spanish. His commitment to his profession, mentorship, and advancing educational opportunities reflects his dedication to making a meaningful difference in others’ lives.
