WOONSOCKET – A city man is facing cyberstalking and harassment charges after he allegedly assailed his ex-girlfriend with “non-stop” phone calls and text messages following their breakup, police say.

Larry S. Aguilar Erickson, 33, of 168 South Main St., is free on $2,500 surety bail following an appearance in Sixth District Court April 9 on charges that also include violation of a protective order, according to the judiciary’s web site.

Aguilar Erickson was arrested by the Lincoln Police Department on a Woonsocket police warrant for his alleged crimes after the victim filed a complaint against him in late March, according to police reports.

A 22-year-old woman, the victim told police that Aguilar Erickson tried to call her about 90 times during the span of a couple of days following their breakup on March 26.

The woman told police Aguilar Erickson also sent her a video text message in which he threatened to kill her dog and also to intercept her while she was in school in Franklin, Ma. The alleged perpetrator also enlisted other members of his family to contact her.

Detective Sgt. Robert Gormley found corroborating evidence to support another one of the woman’s claims – namely, that Aguilar Erickson was following her. On the day she reported his behavior, the police checked a Flock plate-reading security camera and saw his vehicle pass by the Clinton Street police station twice around the time she visited headquarters.

Although Aguilar Erickson’s arrest record in Rhode Island shows that this is the first time he’s ever faced criminal charges in the state, the victim told police this is not the first time he’s been arrested for domestic cyberstalking. And Detective Gormley reported that the other charge local police lodged against him – violation of a protective order – stems from actions taken against him by police in Mendon, Ma.

The victim told police she broke up with Aguilar Erickson after the two had been together since November 2023.
