The 11th annual Southwest Florida Peace Day in the Park is set for Sunday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This year, it will take place on the campus of the Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers. The celebration is held in conjuction with the International Day of Peace (Sept. 21). The family-friendly and pet-friendly event will feature educational talks, meditations, yoga, a blood drive, fun activities for the little ones, and pet adoptions. In addition, a food drive for people and a food drive for pets will take place. The event will also include a plant exchange. “Bring a plant or cutting from your garden, and you can exchange it with something brought in by someone else,” explains Zachari VanDyne, the organizer of the celebration.
