For more than 40 years, Samira K. Beckwith, president and CEO of Hope Healthcare, has been recognized for her leadership in the hospice and healthcare industries on local, state and national levels. On May 7, she is to be inducted into the Hall of Honor, part of the McKnight’s Women of Distinction awards, a joint program of McKnight’s Long-Term Care News (a national magazine for long-term caregiving professionals) and McKnight’s Senior Living (a national media brand for owners, operators and senior living professionals).

The program, in its second year, recognizes women who have made significant contributions to the senior living and skilled nursing professions or who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the fields.

“The dedication and commitment shown by our Hall of Honor recipients truly sets them apart,” says John O’Connor, McKnight’s editorial director.

Since becoming president of Hope Healthcare in 1991, Beckwith has led the organization through decades of growth to meet Southwest Florida’s needs with a broad spectrum of innovative programs and services, including Hope Hospice and Hope Palliative Care, Hope Connections, Hope Parkinson Program and Hope Kids Care.

“It’s an honor to be included among the truly accomplished group of women recognized by McKnight’s,” says Beckwith. “I’m grateful and humbled by the opportunity I’ve had through Hope to help improve the quality of life for those in our community who most need our compassion and care.”
