Quilled Shapes Wheat Stalks

1. Use a 5-inch-long strip of champagne pearl paper to roll modified Marquise. Crease strip at 1 inch from one end; from the opposite end, roll to the crease.

Glue at crease; cut lengthwise down the center of 1-inch tail (Photo 1). Create 12 modified Marquise shapes. 2. Form a doubled strip stem: fold a 14-inch champagne pearl strip in half to make a 7-inch double strip; glue halves together to within 1/8-inch from open end of strip. Fold back the open ends to form a “V” (Photo 2). 3. Arrange and adhere four modified Marquise shapes to each side of doubled strip stem. Arrange with tails facing up and out. Glue three modified Marquise shapes on top of doubled strip stem.

4. Repeat steps 1–3 to form three complete wheat stalks.
