Talking with your child

• Be patient and remember this is a process. Give small amounts of information at a time

• Use words appropriate to the child’s age and vocabulary

• Allow them to ask any questions they want

• Ask them if there was anything you said that scared them or didn’t make sense

• Listen to their concerns

• Let them feel included in the fight against the cancer

• Reassure them of your love
