From June 14 until July 19, injured military service members can apply online for an upcoming special drawing by NM Department of Game and Fish to award three special Oryx hunts on White Sands Missile Range.

Significantly injured, activeduty military members may apply and need to submit supporting documentation.

Applicants (except NMDGF Disabled Veteran card holders) are required to provide proof of eligibility prior to the July 19 deadline. Proof of eligibility may be emailed to specialhunts@state.nm.us or by postal mail with a postmark on or before July 19 to: NM Department of Game and Fish, Attn: Special Hunts, PO Box 25112, Santa Fe, NM 87504

The drawing is open to resident and nonresident eligible applicants who do not hold a current-year Oryx license. Applications must be made through the department’s online license system by clicking Injured Military Oryx Hunts in the menu. Successful applicants will be notified and must buy the appropriate license and pay White Sands Missile Range’s access fee. Hunts will be three days between Sept. 1, 2017 and March 31, 2018, dates and areas to be determined in coordination with White Sands Missile Range. These hunts are not once-ina-lifetime.
