Needed: Beef Ambassadors
The New Mexico Beef Ambassador Contest, sponsored by the New Mexico CowBelles with additional support from the New Mexico Beef Council & New Mexico Cattle Growers, is open for entries in both the Junior ages 15 to 17 and Senior ages 18 to 20 contestant age groups. Registration deadline to submit an entry is March 15, 2018.
The New Mexico Beef Ambassador Program, managed by the New Mexico CowBelle organization, strives to provide an opportunity for youth to educate consumers and students about beef nutrition, food safety and stewardship practices of the beef industry. Beef Ambassadors tell their beef production story to consumers and students through promotion, education, media and the online environment.
A three-member beef ambassador team, comprised of the top two senior contestants and the top junior contestant, will be chosen at the state contest in Las Cruces. During their year of service, the team will travel throughout the state to engage consumers and students with factual information regarding beef nutrition, food safety and positive stewardship practices through educational programs, presentations, special events and social media. The state contest will be held April 6, 2018 at NMSU Campus, Las Cruces.
Entries to become a Beef Ambassador can be submitted directly through an online submission form below or by downloading the application for mail or email submission.
