Catron County 4-H Meeting
The Catron County 4-H Council held their spring, county-wide meeting at the Quemado School on March 23,2018. The day started off with games. The object of one of the games was to build the tallest tower that would support one egg using only newspaper and masking tape. Congratulations to the green team —Gary, Colton, C.J., Hesston, and Clara—for winning that game! Then Mrs.
Cheryl Butterfield, our guest speaker, gave a workshop on how to prepare and present a demonstration speech.
Mrs. Kayla Drummond gave a presentation on "Making Record Books Easier" and Mr. Tracy Drummond gave one on "ShowAnimal Selection".
While the 4-H’ers had a scavenger hunt, Mr. Drummond gave a leadership workshop for the adults. A hot dog lunch was provided and various door prizes were given out.
The Pie-o-neer's 4-H Club won the prize for the club with the highest percentage in attendance, and the Horse Spring's 4-H Club won the prize for the highest number of attendants.
Thirty-two members, eleven leaders, six parents and four adults attended the meeting. We look forward to seeing you at the next county-wide meeting!
