Ciara’s portrayer wasn’t one of those kids who had to be homeschooled in order to pursue their dreams. Rather, she attended the renowned Fiorello H. Laguardia High School Of Music & Art And Performing Arts, where her talents were both encouraged and celebrated. “I hate the idea that the educational system in America stifles creativity,” she admits. “I’m very blessed to have gone there.” Amongst her favorite experiences was being taught by actress Ally Sheedy. “She came to the school, fell in love with us and volunteered to teach,” Konefal reveals. “She was in The Breakfast Club, for crying out loud! Creativity was encouraged at Konefal’s performing-arts high school.
