What’s new with Jen Lilley (ex-theresa)?
On DAYS OF OUR LIVES, Theresa rejoiced upon gaining custody of her son. And it’s no secret that her portrayer, Jen Lilley, has a soft spot for children, too. But even before becoming a foster mom, her deepest desire was to build a village for others in need. While that remains her future goal, she wants to make one child’s wish come true now. “I’m donating the proceeds from my new single, ‘King Of Hearts,’ as well as from pre-sales of and merchandise relating to my upcoming album, Lilley, to obtain heart surgery for an 11-year-old Ugandan boy named John,” she explains of her partnership with Project Orphan. “I’m making him my king of hearts.”
Lilley says that her album is “a story of love, loss and relationships” and that the songs are “very much like British pop with a ’60s, Motown-soul feel.” (Get a preview at jenlilleymusic.com.)
Lilley’s had lots to keep her own feet moving lately. In addition to finalizing the adoption of the now 2-year-old foster son that she and her husband took in, they’ve also been caring for his infant brother. “It’s been a very emotional situation,” she confides. “But I’m just trusting that the Lord loves these boys even more than I do and that He has a plan.”
Ready To Mingle!
In the meantime, Lilley continues to make movies! Catch her Sunday, November 18, in Hallmark’s Mingle All The Way. “I play Molly, who’s created a networking app for people needing a ‘plus one’ for things like the office holiday party,” the actress offers. But when she tests it out herself, Molly finds a winsome executive (played by
DAYS’ former Brian, Brant Daugherty) who could become more than just a platonic partner. “They go on multiple dates, and misunderstandings ensue.”
The BIONIC Mom!
Lilley felt a sense of kismet upon discovering that THE BIONIC WOMAN’S Lindsay Wagner, who plays her mother, is a fellow child advocate. “She’s getting me involved with her charity, ICAN [Inter-agency Council On Child Abuse And Neglect],” the actress confides. “I’m stoked!”
Next, the star struts her stuff in the upcoming comedy Stuck Out Of Love. “It’s literally Groundhog Day with me instead of Bill Murray!” she previews, adding, “Jonathan Bennett (JR, ALL MY CHILDREN) is absolutely hysterical as my ex-boyfriend, whose attention I’m trying to regain the entire time my day is repeating.”
Mingle All TheWay co-star Daugherty is “a good actor and such a giving scene partner,” says Lilley. “I’m hoping we’ll work together again.”
Lilley’s retro look gives a hint of what her new album sounds like.
“I like Theresa because she’s honest,” says the DAYS alum. “She really is trying her best to be a good person.”
