A Familiar Face

When Jason Canela (Arturo) visited San Francisco, he discovered just how popular Y&R is among fans. “I was starving, so I found this little restaurant. The hostess was like, ‘ Do I know you?’ I’m like, ‘No, I’ve never been to San Francisco before.’ She literally walked by my table four times, looking at me, and then she sat down

and said, ‘You’re Arturo!’” he recalls with a smile. “I’m like, ‘Oh, my God, yeah!’ We ended up laughing together.” The hostess actually turned out to be the restaurant owner, says Canela. “It was a family- owned business. She and her sister had worked in the restaurant for 30 years, and every day at lunchtime, they would go home and watch Y&R. It’s great to see such passion! This show has brought people together for 30, 40 years. It’s a beautiful thing to be part of that!”

Canela loves the excitement of fans.
