Amelia Heinle admits that she loved that alter ego Victoria suffered from PTSD after being physically abused by ex-husband J.T., as well as her involvement in the guy’s demise. “I liked that a lot,” she shares. “There has got to be someone who is feeling the weight of what happened, who is showing true remorse and seeing that it is physically taking a toll on her. It was a very interesting storyline, and I loved it. I loved working with Thad [Luckinbill, ex-j.t.], because he did a phenomenal job with the subtleties of being abusive. It wasn’t like he was throwing me against walls on a daily basis. It was more of a mental thing, and that was really fun and interesting to delve into. I actually now kind of miss it!” As fascinating as it was to play, Heinle says the response that she received from fans was even more important. “Some of the feedback was that some fans were actually experiencing this, and that they could relate to someone on our show who was going through the same thing. That meant something to me!”

Heinle was touched by fan feedback to the abuse storyline.
