Lawrence A. Walt­man, 100, of passed away Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 29, 2018 at home.

He was the hus­band of the late Hazel Flan­nery Walt­man.

Born in West Grove, he was the son of the late G. Roy and Laura Quimby Walt­man.

Lawrence, with his fam­ily and fa­ther, helped to build and op­er­ate Sun­set Park, Jen­nersville for 56 years. He also owned and op­er­ated a dairy farm in Jen­nersville.

Lawrence was a Char­ter Mem­ber and first Pres­i­dent of Ox­ford Hunt Club, Char­ter Mem­ber and Pres­i­dent of Home and Farm Home An­tique As­so­ci­a­tion, Char­ter Mem­ber of John Deere Water­loo Boys, Pres­i­dent of Avon Grove Alumni As­so­ci­a­tion, Pres­i­dent of Ch­ester County Dairy­men Coop, mem­ber of Coun­try Mu­sic As­so­ci­a­tion and Coun­try and Blue­grass Mu­sic As­so­ci­a­tion, and was a mem­ber of the Ox­ford Lodge #353 F. & A. M. for over 50 years. He served as Penn Town­ship School Di­rec­tor, Avon-Grove School Board and Pres­i­dent, Board of Gov­er­nors of West Grove Com­mu­nity Hos­pi­tal and Chair­man of Penn Town­ship Plan­ning Com­mis­sion.

In 1988, Lawrence re­ceived the Lions An­nual Ser­vice Award.

He is sur­vived by one daugh­ter, Anita Hoopes Carr of West Grove; two sons, Larry Walt­man (Phyl­lis) of West Grove and Don­ald Walt­man (Donna) of Quar­ryville; eight grand­chil­dren, Brenda Dur­nan (Steve), Con­nie Race (Bill), Craig Walt­man (Wendy), Tr­isha Costello (Ray), Court­ney Woot­ers (Chris) Taryn Walt­man, Casey Walt­man and Jen­nifer Walt­man; and five great-grand­chil­dren, Ade­line Woot­ers, Noah Walt­man, Will Woot­ers, Elena Costello and Rocco Costello.

He was pre­ceded in death by three broth­ers, Smed­ley Walt­man, Wil­lard Walt­man and H. Brin­ton Walt­man.

A ma­sonic ser­vice will be held 11 a.m. Fri­day, Novem­ber 9, 2018 at the Ox­ford Ma­sonic Lodge, 245 N 3rd St, Ox­ford. Friends and fam­ily may visit from 10–11 a.m. on Fri­day at the Ox­ford Ma­sonic Lodge and Thurs­day from 6-9 p.m. at the Ed­ward L. Collins, Jr. Fu­neral Home, Inc. 86 Pine St., Ox­ford.
