Simply Smitten Craft Show brings friends together
— A year’s worth of craftiness goes on sale Saturday in the Simply Smitten Craft Show, a tradition dating back more than a decade.
Jennifer Grainger, Angela Townley and Holly Blomquist will be among the 30 crafters inside the Calvert Grange Hall on Friday, Nov. 9, and Saturday, Nov. 10.
“It will be a lot of Christmas stuff,” Townley said. “All handmade, all touched by us.”
The sale runs from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday at the grange hall, located at 2357 Telegraph Road.
“We are just a bunch of friends with a passion for crafting,” Townley said.
With kids to raise, jobs and families, Simply Smitten did not happen the past two years. Organizers are hoping that shoppers will remember them and come back.
They’ve been keeping in touch in the interim through a blog, Facebook and Instagram.
Among the crafters you’ll find up-cycled clothing, furniture, decor, items made from wood pallets, knitted crafts and baked goods.
“A lot of baked goods,” Townley noted, mentioning cinnamon rolls and breads among the offerings.
There are kid crafters too, Granger noted.
