Cecil County dominates All-Susquehanna division girls’ soccer team
Cecil County was well represented when the AllSusquehanna Division girls’ soccer teams were revealed earlier this month.
Ten local players earned spots on first team, while eight county athletes were featured on second team.
All told, Rising Sun led the way with six players across both teams, while Bohemia Manor had four, North East and Elkton both featured three and Perryville had two players honored.
Forward Annalia Webb, midfielder Tori Pietuszka and defender Katie Brooks earned first team for the Tigers, who went unbeaten in the Susquehanna Division and fell in penalty kicks to Fallston in the 2A East Region Section Final. Additionally, Rising Sun placed forward Abby Backert, defender Katie Willis and goalkeeper Kira Watson (at-large) on second team.
Bohemia Manor finished second in the division and advanced to the 1A East Region Section I Final. The Eagles featured forward Hanna Clarke, midfielder Katie O’Hare and defender Bailey Pressler on first time and goalkeeper Riley Pinato on second team.
The Indians, who placed third in the division, featured forward Mia Cudmore, midfielder Caroline Roberts and defender Emma Haggerty on first time. Elkton, which placed fourth, featured goalkeeper Lexi Zeoli on first team and midfielder Kelsey Caldarelli and defender Caroline Parker on second team.
The Panthers celebrated forward Aaliyah Rodriguez and midfielder Maddie Carr on second team.
Midfielder Mia Cudmore (8) was one of three North East players who earned spots on first team All-Susquehanna Division. All told, 18 Cecil County players were honored with all-division honors.
