Betty E. Was­son, form-

erly of Re­bers­burg, passed away Fri­day, Novem­ber 30th at her home in Pleas­ant Gap. She was 86. Born Oc­to­ber 22, 1932 in Lock Haven, Betty was a daugh­ter of the late LaRue A. and Emma E. "Lee" Porter. She was a grad­u­ate of Hublers­burg High School. On June 1, 1952 she mar­ried Richard L. Was­son, Sr. who pre­ceded her in death on Oc­to­ber 31, 1976.

Betty was a co-owner of the for­mer Was­son Mo­tors in Mill­heim where she as­sisted her hus­band in the run­ning of the busi­ness. In her later years she en­joyed babysit­ting her grand­chil­dren. She at­tended St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pleas­ant Gap. In her ear­lier years, Betty en­joyed bowl­ing, and still en­joyed play­ing cards, bingo, at­tend­ing Grange Fair and puz­zles. Most of all, Betty en­joyed go­ing out to eat with fam­ily and friends and spend­ing time with her fam­ily.

Sur­viv­ing are four daugh­ters, Vickie Lee Shaw­ley (Ron) of Belle­fonte, Gail Lee Feld­man (Ken) of Gran­ite Falls, NC, Gay Lyn Cather­man of Howard and Tammy Lou Ce­cil of Belle­fonte; thir­teen grand­chil­dren, Richard L. Was­son, III (Amy), Saman­tha Was­son (Ai­den), Jen­nifer Shaw­ley, Christo­pher Shaw­ley (Dawn), Eric Was­son, El­iz­a­beth Rosen­berry, (Zackary), Jonathon Shaw­ley, Scott Feld­man (Alexan­dra), Leah Feld­man, Bran­don Cather­man, Tif­fany Cather­man, Cas­sidy Ce­cil and Ash­ley Ce­cil. Also sur­viv­ing are four great­grand­chil­dren, Richard L. Was­son, IV, Pey­ton Was­son, Luke Shaw­ley and Owen Shaw­ley, and her daugh­ter in law, Kim Rick­ert. In ad­di­tion to her hus­band, Betty was pre­ceded in death by one son, Richard L. Was­son, Jr.; one grand­son, Michael Was­son; one son in law, Troy Cather­man, and one brother Robert Porter.

A vis­i­ta­tion for fam­ily and friends will be held at the Steven R. Neff Fu­neral Home in Mill­heim from 6-8 pm on Tues­day, De­cem­ber 4th. Fu­neral ser­vices will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church on Wed­nes­day, De­cem­ber 5th at 10:00 am with Pas­tor Kevin Shock of­fi­ci­at­ing. Betty will be laid to rest in Hublers­burg Ceme­tery. Con­tri­bu­tions in her mem­ory may be given to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 160 N.
