July 12, 1926 — Jan­uary 9, 2019 James F. “Jim” McKivi­son, 92, of Martins­burg, for­merly of State Col­lege, died Wed­nes­day, Jan­uary 9, 2019, at the Vil­lage at Mor­ri­son’s Cove, Martins­burg.

Born July 12, 1926, in Glenn Richey, he was the son of the late John T. and Lyda M. Harsh­berger McKivi­son. On De­cem­ber 28, 1950, he mar­ried Mary Jane Gilliland, who pre­ceded him in death on May 7, 2012.

He is sur­vived by a sis­ter, Janet Kel­ley, of Ty­rone; a brother, Thomas McKivi­son, of State Col­lege; niece’s Lisa Kel­ley, of Ty­rone and Chris­tine Coe, of Hublers­burg.

James served as a Pri­vate First Class in the 25th In­fantry dur­ing World War II.

He re­tired as the Man­ager of Mail­ing Ser­vices in 1983, from Penn State Uni­ver­sity, after 32 years of ser­vice.

James was a mem­ber of the Mount Nit­tany United Methodist Church. He was also a mem­ber of the State Col­lege Elks, the Amer­i­can Le­gion Post 245, State Col­lege, the Na­tional Ri­fle As­so­ci­a­tion, the Har­ris Town­ship Fish and Game As­so­ci­a­tion and the Seven Moun­tains Bowl­ing As­so­ci­a­tion. James was a vol­un­teer at Cen­tre Com­mu­nity Hospi­tal.

Visi­ta­tion will be from 10- 11 a. m., on Tues­day, Jan­uary 15, 2019, at Koch Fu­neral Home, 2401 South Ather­ton Street, State Col­lege. A fu­neral ser­vice will fol­low at 11: 00 a. m., at the fu­neral home, with the Rev­erend Ed­ward Pre­ston of­fi­ci­at­ing.

Burial will be in Pine Hall Ceme­tery.
