North Korea says US is making unfair demands

The Charlotte Observer (Sunday) - - News/obituaries - — LOS ANGELES TIMES

The United States and North Korea gave starkly contrasting reports Saturday after two days of talks intended to firm up Pyongyang’s promise to dismantle its nuclear weapons systems.

The different descriptions raised fears that disarmament negotiations may be doomed before they really begin.

While Secretary of State Michael Pompeo claimed limited progress, North Korea expressed “regret” over the talks, accused the U.S. of making unfair “unilateral” demands and warned of “a dangerous phase that might rattle our willingness for denuclearization that had been firm.”
