Nancy Blan­ton Brooks

CHAR­LOTTE - Nancy Blan­ton Brooks 91, passed away on Oc­to­ber 4, 2018 at Sharon Tow­ers. A na­tive Char­lot­tean, she was born Fe­bru­ary 3, 1927, daugh­ter of the late, Wil­liam and Lois Blan­ton. She was pre­de­ceased by her beloved hus­band of nearly 60 years, Bob Brooks.

Nancy was a grad­u­ate of Cen­tral High School and Queens Col­lege, ma­jor­ing in mu­sic. She was a life­time mem­ber of Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church where she was bap­tized and mar­ried. She was a mem­ber of The Wal­ter J. Miller Sun­day School Class. Both this class and her church were very dear to her heart.

Nancy gave pri­vate pi­ano lessons and taught voice at Sa­cred Heart Col­lege. She was the pi­ano ac­com­pa­nist for sev­eral Sun­day School classes, an oc­ca­sional church or­gan­ist and taught choral and in­stru­men­tal mu­sic in the Char­lotte - Meck­len­burg school sys­tem.

A de­voted and lov­ing wife, mother, and grand­mother, she will be re­mem­bered for be­ing a very sweet and kind lady who put oth­ers first.

Nancy is sur­vived by daugh­ters, Anne Mul­hol­land and her hus­band, Matt and Su­san Mc­Cann and her hus­band, Bob; grand­chil­dren, Allyson Martin, Michael Martin, Cather­ine M. Skip­per and her hus­band, Micah, El­iz­a­beth Bell and her hus­band, Fra­zier, and Car­o­line San­sotta and her hus­band, Do­minic; and brother, Wil­liam Blan­ton of High Point, NC.

A grave­side ser­vice will be held at 10: 00 AM on Sat­ur­day, Oc­to­ber 13, 2018 at Sharon Memo­rial Park.
