Moore, Williams top 2018-19 preseason All-Observer team
Wendell Moore of Concord Cox Mill and Patrick Williams of West Charlotte are considered the two players in North Carolina.
They also are the preseason players of the year in the Observer’s coverage area. Both players are ranked among the top 40 nationally by most publications. Moore, a 6-foot-6 wing, has signed with Duke. Williams, a 6-8 forward, has committed to Florida State.
The two will meet Nov. 24 at the Charlotte Hoops Challenge.
FIRST TEAM Donovan Gregory, Carmel Christian, 6- 4, Sr., G/F: Gregory, who signed with Appalachian State, averaged 20 points and eight rebounds last season.
Wendell Moore Jr., Concord Cox Mill, 6- 6, Sr., G/F: Two-time public school coaches’ state player of the year; top-25 Duke recruit averaged 25 points per game last season.
Jayden Seymour, Northside Christian, 6-8, Jr., F: Ranked No. 6 in N.C. Class of 2020, Seymour averaged 13 points, six rebounds last season.
Brice Williams, Hopewell, 6-7, senior, G/F:
Charlotte 49ers’ commit averaged 18 points, four rebounds last season. Father, Henry, was a former 49ers star.
Patrick Williams, West Charlotte senior, 6-8, Sr., F: Florida State commit is top-40 national recruit who averaged 21 points, eight rebounds last season.
