CHAR­LOTTE — Betty Ann Pratt Brum­ley, 82, of Char­lotte, NC passed away on De­cem­ber 12, 2018. Born in Hick­ory, NC on Oc­to­ber 21, 1936, to the late Le­ola McClin­tock Pratt and Clarence Chalk Pratt.

Betty was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band - Thomas Moore Brum­ley, Jr; brother - Clarence Sims Pratt; daugh­ter - Jan­ice Carol Brum­ley White; and one grand­child - El­iz­a­beth Blake White.

She is sur­vived by her son - Thomas Scott Brum­ley (wife - Ger­a­lyn No­gay Brum­ley), six grand­chil­dren - Jes­sica Lyn Brum­ley Pahl (Jonathan Pahl) of Wash­ing­ton DC; Thomas Moore “Trey” Brum­ley III ( Tiffany Clark Brum­ley) of Cary NC; Dr. Ben­jamin Pratt Brum­ley (Dr. Lau­ren Danzi Brum­ley) of Philadel­phia PA; Dil­lon Thomas Brum­ley of Con­cord NC; Cur­tis William Brum­ley of Biloxi MS; and Tay­lor Scott Brum­ley of Seat­tle WA, four great- grand­chil­dren - Re­becca Claire Pahl, Caro­line Louise Pahl, Henry Clark Brum­ley, and Sa­van­nah Lynn Brum­ley.

Betty at­tended Long Creek School and grad­u­ated North Meck­len­burg High School. She mar­ried her high school sweet­heart, Tommy Brum­ley, and they cel­e­brated 51 years of mar­riage to­gether be­fore his pass­ing in 2007.

Upon grad­u­a­tion, she worked as a le­gal sec­re­tary in Char­lotte. When her hus­band started his own busi­ness, Pack­ag­ing Ma­te­rial & Equip­ment Co., she worked along­side him.

Betty loved sewing and crafts of all kinds, es­pe­cially card mak­ing. When her mother had ad­vanced in age, she was her pri­mary care­giver. Upon her mother’s pass­ing, she as­sumed the guardian­ship of her spe­cial-needs brother, Sims.

As a mem­ber of Trin­ity United Methodist Church, Betty was ac­tive in the church Methodist Women and Cir­cle.

Betty was al­ways kind to oth­ers and was the con­sum­mate South­ern lady.

The ser­vice to cel­e­brate her life will be held at 11: 00 am on De­cem­ber 22, 2018, at Trin­ity United Methodist Church 6230 Beat­ties-Ford Rd, Char­lotte, NC 28216 with the Revered Wade Ogle of­fi­ci­at­ing. The fam­ily will re­ceive friends fol­low­ing the ser­vice in Trin­ity’s Fam­ily Life Cen­ter. Lunch will be served. In­ter­ment will be pri­vate.
