You did it, Vickie! Colton arrived safe-and-sound just in time for Christmas and is the most precious, blond-haired, blue-eyed, pink-cheeked, laughing, happy baby in the world! You answered our prayers so Kari and Sean can enjoy this beautiful little guy now and for the rest of their (and our) lives. And don’t think we don’t notice that he has his great-greatgrandfather’s Irish blue eyes … that same light and dark blue combination that Marcia, Pattie and I grew up looking into and adoring. Did you and Lauren come up with that one all by yourselves or did Dad/Grandpa whisper it in your ear? Thank you for kissing Colton on the cheek and sending him to us. And how many times during this past year have we talked with you to plea for special help when close friends needed your intercession? In every single matter, you delivered. You continue to show us that you’re very much with us at all times which should make us feel better but we still miss you desperately. We’re trying, Vic. We really are.

Do you know how rough it’s been for all of us for the past seven years? You left behind a family who loves you so much and an army of friends who, to this day, share wonderful memories of times spent with you and recollections of all you did for others through your volunteer work with Kids First, Special Olympics, Camp SOAR, Junior League, Senior Citizens Bingo, MakeA-Wish, and more. Most often we laugh but almost always it’s followed by a pang of deep, deep sorrow because you are so missed. The update on your memorial scholarship at CPCC surely makes you grin with pride. Twenty-five paralegal, nursing students and medical technician students have received scholarships in your name. Because of you, those hardworking and deserving students and their families will have their lives changed forever. They’re told all about you and each one has expressed such gratitude and appreciation for your gift to them. Between you, Lauren, Jamie Kimble and Jessica Hodgkins Dovi, you’ve formed a strong and impressive quartet ~ making amazing things happen for people on earth who need your help. We all feel your touch and know in our hearts that the four of you are always at work. Thank you for watching over our darling McKaela and Braeden who will grow up knowing and loving their Mommy and you. Seven years is too long to be without you but we know we’ll see you and hug you again one day and then we’ll see those beautiful brown eyes, that gorgeous face, that incredibly warm smile, and we’ll hear that sparkling, contagious laugh that we all cherish. With enormous love from Dad, Mom, Laura, Mark, Rachel, Julie, Dave, Karrington, Sean, Colton, McKaela, Braeden, Stefan, Beth, Tom, your aunts, uncles, cousins, your namesake Taylor Victoria McManus, your Godson Cooper Daly, and a tremendously long list of friends who haven’t for one second forgotten you, including your “law firm family” at Stiles, Byrum & Horne.
