About the soloists
JULIETTE BLAIS
Attends Collegiate High at Chattanooga State Community College, where she is enrolled in dual- enrollment classes while pursuing her high school diploma.
Plans to pursue music with a double major in educational policy at college.
Has been principal cellist of the CSOYO’s Symphony orchestra under Gary Wilkes since 2013 and also participated in the Philharmonic Orchestra under Sandy Morris for two years.
Studies under Dr. Wesley Baldwin at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and previously with Jenny Wilkes- Hibbard for several years.
Has played cello since 2010, winning two CSOYO scholarships last spring and her first competition with the CSOYO this year.
Performs in her free time with an informal youth chamber group composed of members from three Chattanooga high schools.
HAYDEN DANIEL
Is a junior at Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences, where he plays in the orchestra, also directed by his CSOYO conductor, Gary Wilkes.
Has studied violin since age 7 and currently studies under Dr. Josh Holritz, associate concertmaster of the CSO and a CSOYO alum.
Has been a member of the CSOYO for six seasons and a member of the Chattanooga Boys Choir for eight years.
Attended the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts last summer.
Has performed at several notable venues including the Duke University Chapel and Emory University’s Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts.
