Three shows on the calendar at Palace Theatre

A best-selling author, a piano virtuoso and a group of Crossville, Tenn., entertaine­rs presenting a variety show are all on tap at The Palace Theatre, 72 S. Main St. in Crossville.

› Friday, May 1 9: Author a nd f orensic anthropolo­gist Dr. Bill Bass will be the guest speaker at 7 p.m. Bass is well-known as the founder and former director of the University of Tennessee’s Forensic Anthropolo­gy Center, better known as “The Body Farm,” where human remains are left to decay in natural and controlled environmen­ts.

He and journalist Jon Jefferson write mysteries under the pen name Jefferson Bass. Their 10 books of fiction include “Carved in Bone,” “Flesh and Bone,” “The Devil’s Bones,” “Bones of Betrayal,” “The Bone Thief” and “The Bone Yard.”

Tickets to hear him are $25.

› Saturday, May 20: Entertaine­rs Ruth and Wayne Lucas present a variety show at 7 p.m. with newcomers Ted Monday, Madison Bowles, comedian Carlene Hesters and Rich Peterson. In addition to solos and duets, a portion of the second half will include a military salute. Tickets are $12. › Monday, May 22: Pianist Thomas Pandolfi will perform at 7 p.m. He performs a variety of styles from pop music to masterpiec­es of Tchaikovsk­y, Rachmanino­ff and Liszt.

Tickets are $18 adults, $10 students.
