‘The Crooner & The Clown’
Si nger- s ongwriter Austin Lucas and critically acclaimed comic Ryan Singer will make a stop at Sluggo’s on Saturday night, Oct. 28, as part of their “The Crooner & The Clown Tour.”
Folk punk veteran Austin has toured with the likes of Willie Nelson and Jamey Johnson and has over a million combined views on YouTube. Ryan Singer was a recurring character on IFC’s “Maron.”
Raised by a musical family in Bloomington, Ind., Lucas hails from a traditional folk/Americana background embellished by punk and metal-influenced adolescence.
He has released a catalogue of solo albums that includes “The Common Cold” (2006), “Bristle Ridge with Chuck Ragan” (2008), “Somebody Loves You” ( 2009), “Stay Reckless” (2013) and “Between the Moon and the Midwest.” He plans to release a new studio album, “Immortal Americans,” in 2018.
Singer is a comic’s comic whose material is uncompromising and unpretentious. He was hailed by Marc Maron in Rolling Stone as a comedian “who should be big.”
Ryan has released three albums, and is the creator and host of the iTunes podcast, “Me & Paranormal You,” conducting interviews with people who claim to possess paranormal abilities or have had extraordinary experiences.
He was named by LA Weekly as one of “10 LA Comics to Watch” for 2014, was one of four finalists in the original CMT’s “Next Big Comic,” and his “United Snacks of America” has over 8 million listens on Pandora.
