‘Women Rock’ at Tivoli

CSO pays homage to rock’s female singer/ songwriter­s

Rock isn’t the music one usually expects at a symphony concert.

But the Chattanoog­a Symphony & Opera will celebrate female rock ‘n’ roll legends at the next Luken Holdings pops concert on Saturday, March 17. “Women Rock” starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Ti vol iT heat re ,709 Broad St.

A powerful trio of award-winning female vocalists will merge their talent with the beauty of the CSO to create a concert paying homage to i conic women who changed rock ‘ n’ roll forever. The singers performing with the CSO will be Shayna Steele, Cassidy Cantanzaro and Katrina Dideriksen.

The concert will include the music of Carole King, Tina Turner, Janis Joplin, Aretha Frankin, Pat Benatar, Heart and Carly Simon.

The audience can groove to classics such as “I Feel the Earth Move,” “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” “Piece Of My Heart,” “Dancing In The Street”, “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” “Proud Mary” and “You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman.”

“As a Gen- Xer, I am thrilled to have our CSO paired with these amazing female vocalists to bring the music of my generation and the Boomer generation to the stage,” says CSO Executive Director Samantha Teter. “Celebratin­g the great works of these female rock legends backed by a symphony will be an incredible live experience.”

Tickets are $21 to $85, students are $15.
