Campus concerts to hear around the region
The Lee University Presidential Concert Series will present the Young People’s Chorus of New York City on Friday, April 13, in Pangle Hall, 340 Church St., Cleveland, Tenn. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.
YPC is an award-winning children’s chorus based in New York City that brings children of diverse ethnic, religious and economic backgrounds together through a program of musical excellence, community and educational initiatives. The group is not only about music, but building confidence and offering opportunities to better a young person’s life.
YPC is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The program that began with nine children in 1988 now has a chorus of more than 1,600, with seven divisions of performance choruses and in- school music programs across New York City.
The chorus will be conducted by its Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Nunez, who is an alum of the college and a Distinguished Alumni Award recipient.
Tickets are $15 adults, $5 senior adults and students, free for Lee faculty, staff and students with ID.
