Back Alley stages first Children’s Theatre production

- STAFF REPORT

Back Alley Productions will launch its first Children’s Theatre production this weekend with “Robyn Hood,” a clever spin on the family favorite “Robin Hood.”

Performances are scheduled Friday-Sunday, April 13-15, at 7:30 p.m., along with a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Sunday. Performances will be held in Mars Theatre, 117 N. Chattanooga St. in LaFayette, Ga.

“Robyn Hood” stars a young heroine in the role of the legendary archer, who l eads t he merry people of Sherwood Forest. It’s a clever tale of good vs. evil, resiliency, compassion and heroism played out with easygoing, laugh-out-loud humor and a twist that will delight children and adults.

Zoey Fesperman is cast in the title role of Robyn. Eli Hudson plays her nemesis, the Sheriff of Nottingham. The cast of 15 young actors spans ages 5 to 18.

“Everyone knows the thrilling stories of Robin Hood, but Back Alley Productions has pared down the stories of this woodland hero to just one story,” says director Kaylee Smith.

“We all know the high points of the characters robbing from the rich and giving to the poor, falling in love and humiliating the Sheriff of Nottingham and Prince John at the archery tournament. But this tale is very original and its acting is charming, telling the story with a sense of childlike wonder.”

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at www. BAPshows. com or at the box off i ce 30 minutes before show time.
