Puckett’s supports Kidney Foundation with live music, food at benefit tonight

- STAFF REPORT

Dine out for a cause tonight, Sept. 20, when Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant hosts a night of live music from Cody James Harris along with guest speakers and an entree special to benefit the Kidney Foundation of the Greater Chattanooga Area. The benefit is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the downtown restaurant, 2 W. Aquarium Way.

For Foster Yates, Puckett’s general manager, the event supports a cause dear to his heart. Yates received a kidney transplant in 2016, and has been a dedicated supporter of the Kidney Foundation of the Greater Chattanooga Area for several years.

The event will be held in partnership with Kelley Bradshaw, morning host on WUSY US- 101 radio and a participant in the upcoming Dare to Dance competition, which is the Kidney Foundation’s largest fundraiser of the year.

“I’ ve witnessed the incredible impact that this organization has in our community and the meaningful ways they’ve truly changed lives,” Yates says. “We want to invite people out to Puckett’s for an evening of celebration and awareness.”

The Kidney Foundation of the Greater Chattanooga Area is an independent foundation, meaning it receives no funding from the National Kidney Foundation. Its mission is to provide support and infor- mation to people diagnosed with kidney disease, as well as their families.

As part of the effort to support The Kidney Foundation, the restaurant has crafted a cherry- woodsmoked brisket lasagna. When anyone orders the $ 12.99 entree tonight, $1 from each dish sold will be donated to the foundation. A portion of sales from dinner this evening will also go to the organization.
