‘Amahl and the Night Visitors’ in Col­legedale

South­ern Ad­ven­tist Univer­sity School of Mu­sic in­vites the com­mu­nity to a free per­for­mance of the clas­sic Christ­mas opera “Amahl and the Night Visitors” on Satur­day, Dec. 8, at 4 p.m. in Col­lege dale Church of Sev­enth- day Ad­ven­tists, 4829 Col­lege Drive East.

A per­for­mance is also sched­uled Fri­day night, Dec. 7, for SAU stu­dents.

Fea­tur­ing the univer­sity’ s Sym­phony Orches­tra and two vo­cal en­sem­bles, Bel Canto and Die Meis­tersinger, the pro­duc­tion will be di­rected by Julie Pen­ner with Lau­rie Min­ner as con­duc­tor.

Roles have been dou­ble-cast, with the ex­cep­tion of one, so dif­fer­ent ac­tors will per­form Fri­day and Satur­day. Play­ing Amahl will be Se­forah Fish, so­prano, and Ian Has­sevort, boy so­prano.

Other roles are the mother: Emily Tan and Jedel Bu­toy; Kas­par: Jonathan Bartholomew and Na­cor Lan­tigua; Mel­chior: Grady Hay­den and Charles Law­son; Balt­hazar: Jonathan Rod­ney; and Page: Ben­jamin Law­son and Zachary Ha­gen.
