Stoned Cold Fox at Songbirds South

- STAFF WRITER BY BARRY COURTER

Members of Stoned Cold Fox have had the opportunity in the last several weeks to perform at Songbirds Guitar Museum, but they have been in the support role, first opening for a Nirvana tribute band and then for Cage the Elephant.

On Friday, Jan. 4, they get to headline at Songbirds South. SevenStones will open the show.

For Stoned Cold Fox frontman and lead singer Trevor Card, it’s a milestone that has been two years in the making. “We are pretty excited to be able to go back there,” he says. “This is what we’ve been working for.”

He, bass player Dakari Kelly and drummer Chris Blankenship play straight rock ‘n’ roll with about 90 of the songs being originals written by Card — “Though we work them up together,” Card says.

SevenStones is a local hard-rock band comprised of Drew Elliott, Abraham Montalvo, Rich Aycock and Josh Kennedy. They play a mix of rock, metal and alternative music.
