SEAFOOD WITH A SIDE OF KARAOKE

- BY BRANDI DIXON CORRESPONDENT

There are a lot of reasons that Riverside Catfish House is a favorite local seafood dive, and now faithful followers can tack karaoke onto that list.

“We just started it back up recently and are hosting karaoke nights every Thursday from 5 to 9:30 p.m.,” said restaurant manager Taylor Atchley. “We’re so excited to have it back!”

Karaoke nights feature specials on pitchers and buckets of draft beer ($10 buckets, $8 pitchers). Now that warmer weather and longer days are returning, guests can enjoy the fun from the outdoor seating area and take in the river views.

Savory staples at Riverside Catfish that folks can look forward to are all-you-can-eat catfish fillets for $14 or the whole catfish for $11, both served with your favorite sides of choice. Of course, you can’t pass up the frog legs appetizer with tender filling that’s like a blend of chicken and fish, or maybe a shrimp cocktail if you’d like something lighter before a hearty catfish dinner.

The atmosphere at Riverside is just as inviting as ever, making it a spot guests will want to add to their dining-out venues. The red-roofed restaurant is hidden in the perfect spot on a winding backroad right on the river. Catfish is, of course, the specialty of the house and can be ordered as fried fillets, hand-breaded fish bites or bone-in fingerlings.

Riverside also caters to those who love shrimp and salmon with its diners’ choice of lemon pepper, Old Bay or blackened seasoning. Landlubbers aren’t forgotten; the menu offers hamburger steaks, chicken tenders, hamburgers, a chicken sandwich and fried-chicken salad for them.
