Darlingside, Tauk, tribute bands at Songbirds

- STAFF REPORT

A diverse lineup is booked at Songbirds in the coming week, beginning with alt-folk quartet Darlingside tonight, April 25.

“Darlingside — I’ve wanted to get them in for a year and a half, but had to wait until their Moon River appearance last fall,” says Mike Dougher, Songbirds entertainment coordinator. “Storytelling with four-part harmonies … I’m in!”

Darlingside’s show is in support of new EP “Look Up & Fly Away” and their acclaimed 2018 album “Extralife.”

“This week is interesting because there are several new acts and a little something for everyone,” Dougher continues.

“I think the highestprofile act is probably Blizzard of Ozzy, a tribute to Ozzy Osborne and Black Sabbath. They do an elaborate setup with lights, video and stage props, and they sell out every city around us. So I’m glad to finally get them in.”

“They have a fresh, new sound for the rock crowd. Again, it’s taken a year of talking to finally get them in,” says Dougher.

Badflower scored a No. 1 with first single “Ghost,” off its debut album, “OK, I’m Sick.” That single’s music video surpassed 9 million views. The band’s second single off that album, “Heroin,” is moving up Billboard’s Hot Rock chart.

Badflower was nominated for iHeart Radio’s Best New Rock Band earlier this year, which was won by lovelytheband.
