‘Window Flowers’: A bouquet of folk/rock
“Window Flowers,” the 2018 release by Liz Cooper & The Stampede, has met with such critical acclaim that the Nashville trio is extending its tour in support of the album. The rock band brings that tour to JJ’s Bohemia on Saturday night, April 27.
“Window Flowers” is the culmination of a year in which Cooper dedicated herself to spending every single day creating in at least one medium and saying “yes” to everything she was asked to do.
Of the recording, Cooper reflects, “Our first time working with an outside producer and our first time in a proper recording studio was when we recorded ‘Window Flowers.’ TJ Elias’ mad scientist ideas, an abundance of hot dogs and lack of sunlight pushed us outside of our comfort zones to work more cohesively as a unit than we ever had before.” Liz Cooper
The Stampede consists of bassist Grant Prettyman and drummer Ryan Usher.
Already known in Nashville for their electric live shows, Liz Cooper & The Stampede experienced their first breakthrough in 2016 with the release of their Audiotree Live session, which attracted over 220,000 views on YouTube, and over a million streams on Spotify. The band placed as one of NPR Music’s runners-up during its 2016 Tiny Desk Contest.

It was there that she discovered her sound and singular voice through a creative community that included the likes of Ron Gallo, Cage the Elephant, The Weeks, The Wild Feathers, Future Thieves and Caroline Rose.
Opening for Cooper will be Briston Maroney. The 21-year-old’s live sets channel the energy of the house shows where he got his start, unwavering whether he’s performing for hundreds or completely alone. Maroney plans to release a new EP this spring.
