Chatt State actors featured in two shows

Get your deerstalker cap on — the play’s afoot! Comedic genius Ken Ludwig (“Lend Me a Tenor,” “Moon Over Buffalo”) transforms Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic “The Hound of the Baskervilles” into a murderously funny adventure.

The Professional Actor Training Program at Chattanooga State Community College will present Ludwig’s “Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery” in three, free performances Friday-Sunday, April 26-28.

Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Humanities Building on the Chattanooga State campus, 4501 Amnicola Highway.

In this play, the male heirs of the Baskerville line are being dispatched one by one. To find their killer, Holmes and Watson must brave the desolate moors before a family curse dooms the newest heir.

Watch as the investigators try to escape a web of clues, silly accents, disguises and deceit as five actors deftly portray more than 40 characters.

Directed by Sherry Landrum, the play features graduating students of the Professional Actor Training Program. The cast includes Madison Gothard, Ben Levin, Mahaley Reed, Joseph Watts and Taylor Williams.

AN EVENING OF 10-MINUTE PLAYS

Members of the Professional Actor Training Program at Chattanooga State will take the stage again on Wednesday, May 1, to present “An Evening of 10-Minute Plays.”

Directed by Sherry Landrum, this production features first-year students of the program. This show will also be in the Humanities Building at Chattanooga State.

The performance is free. Parents are advised the show contains adult content and language, and is not suitable for children.
