Rail & Hops Brewers Festival is Saturday

- STAFF REPORT

A new brewfest is launching Saturday, Aug. 24, with an emphasis on highlighting handcrafted beers from local and regional brewers.

The inaugural Rail & Hops Brewers Festival will be held in the Glenn Miller Gardens of the Chattanooga Choo Choo from 6 to 10 p.m., rain or shine. More than 30 breweries are participating in the event.

In addition to focusing on the artistry of brewing handcrafted beers, the festival will show off the culinary talents of local chefs. Plus, four musical acts will entertain visitors as they sip and sup in the gardens. Those acts are Opposite Box, Oweda, The Afternooners and Courtney Reid.

Guests are advised to enter through the dome lobby of the Chattanooga Choo Choo. All beer tastings and a Rail & Hops Brewers Festival tasting cup are included in the cost of admission. No tokens are necessary

Rail & Hops is a 21-and-older event, including designated drivers. A valid government photo ID is required for attendance.
