If you haven’t gone to East Ridge to visit Melodee’s, you’re due for a trip to the new little diner at the first opportunit­y. The local family-based restaurant is continuing to grow, and is offering more delicious Southern eats just in time for fall.

Owner Melody Clark said that the restaurant has some new hours and some hot, new menu items that regulars and newbies alike are going to want to try.

“We’re opening for breakfast now on Saturdays from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m.,” Clark said, adding that they’ll also have a new closing time of 4 p.m. on Saturday to better accommodat­e their crowds.

The new Saturday breakfast hours also come with menu choices not seen before, such as chicken and waffles, featuring Clark’s homemade Belgian waffles, omelets made to order and biscuits and gravy, all made from scratch.

“Everything served is still fresh and homemade,” Clark said, stressing that she works to ensure her customers enjoy only the best.

Other items of note are the bacon pancakes with maple bourbon syrup and fresh fruit, and Right: Scoops of homemade tuna and chicken salads make a light lunch and tempting salad plate at Melodee’s.

on the lighter side, several quiche choices or grits and oatmeal, again all made in-house from fresh ingredient­s.

As business continues to grow for Melodee’s, so has its team. Clark said she’s added a few new staff members to

that part of her family. To help make sure the diner can serve as many folks as possible, she’s added Monday hours from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“We’re also launching our catering business just in time for people to start thinking about the holidays,” she shared. “We’ll offer chicken and dressing, a variety of sides, desserts and more.”

The restaurant is also featured on the Waitr app to serve customers at their convenienc­e, even if they can’t make it in for a visit.

“We’ve just got a lot going on, and we are so excited,” Clark said, adding that she’s expecting to host the official grand opening in coming weeks.

“We’re happy and growing, and looking forward to everything that’s headed our way in the days to come.”
