Lee Theatre opens ‘Brilliant Traces’

- STAFF REPORT Compiled by Susan Pierce.

Lee University Theatre is presenting “Brilliant Traces,” a play by Cindy Lou Johnson, in performances Sept. 27-28 and Oct. 3-5. They will take place in the Buzz Oates Theatre of the Communication Arts Building on campus, 433 N. Ocoee St. in Cleveland, Tennessee.

“Brilliant Traces” is the story of an unlikely meeting between two characters, Henry Harry and Rosannah. Henry lives in the middle of nowhere and never sees another soul — and he likes it that way.

One night during a nasty blizzard, his door bursts open and Rosannah collapses on the floor of his rustic cabin wearing her wedding dress. After being forced together by the raging storm, the two confront their bitter views on life, society and their pasts. Through each other’s lives, they search to find comfort, understanding and compassion of their own.

“Getting to direct ‘Brilliant Traces’ has been a rewarding and exciting experience,” said Madelaine Burgess, senior theater major and director of the play. “Working with the actors, designers and production team to help make this show come together has been an honor. I am very excited for audiences to see this beautiful and profound play.”

Tickets are $10 adults, $7 for children and senior adults. They are available at the box office in the Communication Arts Building Monday-Friday, 3-6 p.m., and one hour before curtain time. Tickets are also available online at https://www. showclix.com/.

This play is recommended for ages 12 and older.
