Colonnade Players open musical comedy

- STAFF REPORT Compiled by Susan Pierce.

The Colonnade Players will present “She Loves Me,” a musical based on a book by Joe Masteroff with lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and music by Jerry Bock, beginning Friday, Dec. 13, at The Colonnade in Ringgold, Georgia.

“She Loves Me” focuses on the employees of a parfumerie in Budapest, particularly employees Georg Nowack and Amalia Balash. At work, they appear constantly at odds and share a mutual dislike. But Georg and Amalia are unaware they are actually falling in love through a series of pen pal letters written and shared through a lonely-hearts advertisement.

Will true love win in the end? That remains to be seen, but audiences will have fun finding out.

“She Loves Me” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International. All performance materials are also supplied by MTI.
