Join CSO at ‘Home for the Holidays’

- STAFF REPORT Compiled by Susan Pierce.

Signal Mountain native and internationally acclaimed bass-baritone Seth Carico will be the featured artist when the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera presents its annual Home for the Holidays at the Tivoli Theatre.

Because it is such a crowd favorite, two Home for the Holidays performances are scheduled to accommodate the crowd: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22. Guest conductor David Torns will direct the CSO.

Based in Berlin, Germany, and garnering numerous awards for his exceptional vocals, Carico began performing at age 9 with a role in Signal Mountain Playhouse’s production of “The King and I.”

“I have been all around the world to sing, but no matter where I go, there is nothing like a hometown audience to make me feel truly special,” he says. “Watching the Chattanooga Symphony in the Tivoli Theatre was where I discovered my passion for opera, so there is no place I would rather be to celebrate the holidays.”

The CSO Chorus and Metropolitan Bells will lend their talents to classic Christmas carols and songs from favorite holiday films, including “Frozen” and “Home Alone.”

Santa will be available for free photos prior to the concert and during intermission.

Tickets start at $21. They can be purchased by calling the CSO box office at 423-267-8583 or online at http://chattanoogasymphony.org/
