He’ll slay you

- STAFF REPORT

Born in Alabama, Dusty Slay says his parents divorced when he was 2, then there was a custody battle and his mom lost, so he had to go live with her. He split time between his dad, who lived on a farm, and his mom, who lived in a trailer park.

When asked about his education, Slay says, “When I was kid, my dad asked me if I wanted to go to college or if I wanted a pool. Man, I love that pool.”

Slay returns to The Comedy Catch,1400 Market St., for shows tonight through Sunday, Jan. 16-19. In his smooth baritone voice, he’ll walk audiences through his childhood in the trailer park, his adult years in the work force and as an occasional blackout drunk.

He’s made several appearances on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and NBC’s “Last Comic

Standing.”

He’s been invited to numerous comedy festivals across America including The Bridgetown Comedy Festival 2017, The Turnbuckle Comedy Festival 2017, The Laughing Skull Festival 2015-16, The Charleston Comedy Festival and The Cape Fear Comedy Festival.
