Audience takes part in UTC production

- STAFF REPORT Compiled by Susan Pierce.

Continuing its “Outside the Box” programming, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Theatre Company is presenting “Outlook/ Overlook” in the UTC University Center.

This student/faculty devised piece is an immersive production, meaning audience members will be guided through different locations to experience a collaborative piece of live theater.

“Outlook/Overlook” is inspired by themes found in fairy tales and folklore, written with a contemporary and comedic spin. Created by UTC theater students and written by professor Gaye Jeffers, the theater experience invites the audience to enter the world of the play. The audience will travel through difference spaces in the

University Center in a funny, creative production that features a bingo game, a discombobulated wedding ceremony and a late-night television show with an unexpected visitor.

Meg Phinney, a junior theater student, is co-directing “Outlook/ Overlook” with Jeffers. Members of the cast are Savannah Champion, Sadie Collins, Callie Downing, Blaine Evans, Noah Fernandez, Autumn Hemmelgarn, Analisa Keegan, Blaine Lindsey, Allie Millard,

Isaiah Owens, Falcian Page, Coltyn Parks, Ashes Russell, Rachel Walker and Shayla Young.

The creative team includes Adam Miecielica, set design; Andrew Haueter and Kaylee Vice, costume designers; and Jeff Davis, lighting design and technical direction.

Tickets can be purchased by phone at 423-425-4269, or online at https://www.utc.edu/ theatre.
