New Renaissanc­e Art Show at Red Clay State Park


The first Red Clay Renaissanc­e Art Show will open in the Visitors Center of Red Clay State Park on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This state park is located at 1140 Red Clay Park Road, Cleveland, Tennessee.

The art show is designed to display eight local artists’ depictions of Cherokee history. These 12 works will depict either scenes from the Trail of Tears, Red Clay State Park or the Cherokee people. Their work will include a variety of mediums from photograph­y to sculpture.

Work will be on display only at the art show since the exhibit continues until August. However, visitors interested in purchasing a piece may speak with the artist about procuring the piece at a later time.

Saturday night’s opening is free, but donations will be accepted.
