Huang duo next in Lee concert series

Lee University’s Presidential Concert series will present pianist Helen Huang and violinist Paul Huang in the next Presidential Concert Series on Tuesday, Feb. 18. Their performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Pangle Hall, 340 Church St. in Cleveland, Tennessee.

Although they share the same last name, there is no family relationship between the pair. They also share a reputation for impressive technique and eloquent performances.

Helen Huang is a soloist and chamber music player who has appeared with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Orchestre National de France, the

London Philharmonic and the Israel Philharmonic.

She received Lincoln Center’s Martin E. Segal Award for promising young artists in 1994, and in 1995, she became one of the youngest recipients of the prestigious Avery

Fisher Career Grant.

Helen attended the Manhattan School of Music and then Juilliard School. She currently serves on the Juilliard pre-college faculty.

Paul Huang, also a recipient of the Avery

Fisher Career Grant, has performed at festivals worldwide, including his recital debut at the Lucerne Festival in Switzerland. He received the Lincoln Center Award for Emerging Artists in 2017.

Winner of the 2011 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, he made critically acclaimed recital debuts in New York at Lincoln Center and in Washington, D.C., at the Kennedy Center.
